Bought new item

Today I've ordered a Flightcase! Now I've got everything I need, and the transport gets easier. I might have a new DJ-job in December as well.

The Virtual Vinyls system works just fine, and my huge DJ-job the 1th of July this year, went really well! I held the show for 8 hours all together! 4 hour each day, at a "LAN-party". The audience was so satisfied with my job, that I got a free smoke-machine and liquid. That was a positive surprise.

The last months I haven't got time for DJ-ing, because of school. It's my last year in high-school, and I take my general admission with media, so the schooldays are longer than those who just take the general admission. Anyway, I hope I get time for it at the end of the school year.

Virtual Vinyl!!

Now, I finally got the package from the US after some troubles with the Norwegian customs. I love this invention, it's great! I can play the music I want, and even become a better DJ.

I've also bought a laptop stand to make things easier.

I got the package for 2200 NOK. If I had bought it in Norway, it would have cost me 6000 NOK, about $1090!! So, do you understand why I ordered it from the US?

Still waiting for my Virtual vinyls to arrive. I dislike the Norwegian mail, especially the customs...

I love my Vertigo Tri LED (Disco-light). It gives a great effect, and it's fantastic in the sound-activated mode. When I get my vinyls I hope for more jobs, so I can buy more lights and a smoke-machine!

Today Suprime : Records uploaded a preview of their new song: "Ass Up". Originally you know the track from Baracuda, but it's the same producer.

I was thrilled to hear some news from them, because Age Pee do not release songs often. When the first do, it comes as a single, like most of the electronic bands.

Btw. I've already purchased this song from iTunes, and it's worth it! Everything Suprime : Music (Records) produce is brilliant!

Expanding

I extend my DJ-ing to a higher level, thanks to the US and Virtual Vinyls. From now on I do not have to buy hundreds of LP's to keep the music up through the night. I can also make much cooler mixes, thanks to a lot of FX's.

If you have followed this blog, you know this have been my dream all along, and now it's finally come true!

This will make everything much easier for me, and you also feel safer, knowing that you could use any of the songs you have. That would make the audience happier too, knowing that you can play almost any of their wishes.

This is not the first time that the Swedish Eurodance band sing about the Norwegian girls. I think it's great and cool! Wish the Norwegians would sing something positive about the Swedish people as well. We mostly make fun of them, so we don't deserve it. It's time for a change! (But we do party like a rock star on replay!)

Hi!

I don't know if I have any readers left, because I have not posted an update since September. Shame on me... again! You see, I have three blogs, and a lot to do at the moment. Anyway, I'm going to improve, and try to make this blog work. I will update it more often, but not every day.

I keep this blog for those who are interested in what I do as a DJ, as a DJ that is still in the learning phase. For those who have heard of me or read about me, and are thinking of booking me as a DJ might also visit this page. Another reason why I keep this blog.

I have mede some remixes since my last update, some good ones, and some not so good. I ain't a pro in FL Studio, and I won't be it either. I have started to use Virtual vinyl software as well, and I have recorded some of my mixes. What I do in FL Studio, is producing music from scratch. Some people might misunderstand what a DJ do. Mixing on a DJ-set is done mostly live, and is not the same as producing from scratch.

I'm aware of the mismatch of the rhythm in this song, witch you might notice as well.

"Eurodancer" is the one I'm most satisfied with.

This week a good classmate of me got me a version of FL Studio 9 and Virtual Vinyl. That was really kind of him! So, now I got the chance to make some good remixes, without worrying how much time I got at the end of the day. I could not save my work in the Demo version... Now I can, and it's lovely! The "Future Trance 52" CD that came out in june, got a lot of good songs. Almost every song is great, and that is rare. Here is some of them:

This one is wonderful! Just listen until the vocal is done, it will blow your mind!

This song has a lack of text, but it's still catchy and a good song. I'm not impressed by the video, but I guess the guys like it...

This song grabbed me. The beautiful piano/synthesizer together with the electronic rhythm, it's fantastic!

I was just testing the school's photo-camera, D90, and it rocks! It's amazing how great pictures you can get ! The only challenge is to handle the focus.

The video is a bit tricky, thanks to YouTube. But the whole video is ther. You just have to click around a few times.

Så for de som lurer, er det slik lysene og DJ-settet mitt ser ut. Alt dette har en verdi på rundt 20'000kr. Så jeg håper dette øker sjansen for at jeg får meg noen jobber i ny og ned ;)

I would really like to get a virtual vinyl package, because it looks so more handy than carrying around with hundreds of LPs. The problem is that everything is so expensive in Norway. It's around 5'500 NOK for the Numark package, and that's $785! If I buy it from abroad, it will be taken by the customs, and that's bad. It's one of Norway's stupid rules, maximum 200NOK ($28).

So I think I'll have to wait until I can save some money...

I am a huge fan of Verena, it's literally my biggest idol, and I would really like to wish her a happy birthday in this blog. I hope she gets a wonderful year ahead, and hope that she has a great day!

Verena is in the background of the band, Groove Coverage. She has many years of experience in singing and piano. She is also a songwriter, and has her own Music/piano School where people can learn modern songs.

God Is A Girl is my favorite song of GC, and I really love all the other songs too!

Yesterday, it was Melanie Münch's Birthday. She is the lead singer in Groove Coverage, the best band ever! It was really cool and special to send her a greeting through FaceBook. It's not something everyone gets to do; to gratulate one of your idols directly over the Internet. I really appreciate it; being a "friend" of her on FB.

Hope she will have a great year with much success! :D

I don't understand much German, wish I did, because it's one of the coolest languages. It's so lovely listening to it, fascinating! (My family name is actually from Germany, *Smile*).

"Castles In The Sky" & "Castle In The Sky" is not the same song. I got a bit confused when i googled it, wrote wrong, and a way different song popped up.

The one beneath is more sped up

This song is an old classic, but it's done again, and again by different artist. I really like this version, and the tune reminds me of Ireland.

I do find back to some old music, which I used to listen at as a child. Alice Deejay is a good example, or maybe the only example of Dance/Techno. I wasn't that found of it then, and now it's the only thing i listen to.

These two videos have some great dance choreography, within this genre of music. (Thats my opinion).

Summer Trance

Today I've been skiing on the mountains, but in my hometown the snow is almost completely gone. The strong yellow easter sun, makes me wanna listen to what I call; Summer Trance. The uplifting trance melodies that lift you up into the air, and put a smile on your face.

So lovely!

Especially "Sunshine" is the Summer Trance I'm looking for, but it's hard to find such uplifting melodies.

Hi, I'm back! Sorry, I haven't written since X-mas... My new goals are going really well. I'm training 3 days a week now, at a training-studio of course. I nearly don't have time for DJ-ing, because I am studying and got so many movie projects by the time. In the easter holiday it will change, and more DJ-practicing will come, because I really want to get out there.

Today I received my new Vertigo Tri Led, and it's awesome! The only thing I miss now, it's a smoke machine. I'm considering buying me one, a "Martin Magnum 0650".

From now on I will only write in English, that's more easily.

Flere i klassen min sitter å hører på elektronisk musikk på skola faktisk, men det er jeg bare glad for. Folk sier de ikke er så fan av techno, men plutselig kan de komme med en sang de faktisk liker. Italobrothers er spesielt populær; "Stamp On The Ground". Det er en sang som har vært med i noen måneder nå, og det er flere som mener at den skulle ha blitt årets russelåt.

Jeg liker sangen også, mest fordi den ligger under sjangeren "Jumpstyle". Jeg digger jumpstyle, og jeg kunne ønske jeg kunne ha danset det! Det ser så kult ut hvis man er flere. Btw. man ser det danses jumpstyle i musikkvideoen også.

"Colors Of The Rainbow" er første sangen jeg hørte av Italobrothers og det var i forrige sommer, da jeg var i Tyskland. Den synes jeg er ganske bra også.

I like the song too, mostly because it is under the genre "Jumpstyle". I love jumpstyle, and I could wish I could have danced it! It looks so cool if they are several people jumping around. Btw. you see the jumpstyle dance in the music video too.

My first mission successful completion

I går var jeg virkelig nervøs, og ikke minst spent! Jeg hadde mitt første oppdrag på 4H sin høstfest, der jeg spilte i en halv time. Jeg spilte 70-80 talls musikk, og overgangene gikk bedre enn forventet. De gikk til og med bedre enn da jeg øvde hjemme.

Jeg fikk positive tilbakemeldinger. Noen hørtes imponert over overgangene og sa: "Oi, skiftet hun sang nå?" Så det hørtes sikkert bra ut. Det virket som om jeg kunne få flere jobber innen 4H, jeg sier ikke nei til det. Jeg venter også på svar fra ungdomsskolen, men det spørs om de godtar at jeg spiller en god del techno. Jeg får bare vente og se.

Bildene er i fra i går, men de er tatt etter at jeg var ferdig.

Jeg tror jeg skal kjøpe meg en svart eller hvit duk som jeg kan ha på bordet, som går ned til golvet. Slik ser de ikke at jeg henter opp vinylplatene. DJ-cockpiten jeg har hjemme er for tung og stor til å dra med seg...

Yesterday I was really nervous, and especially excited! I had my first assignment on 4H's fall-party, where I played for half an hour. I played music from the 70-80's, and the transitions were better than expected. They went even better than when I practiced at home. I got positive feedback. Some sounded impressed by the transitions and said, "Wow, she changed the song now?" So it certainly sounded good. It seemed as if I could get more jobs within 4H, I don't say no to that. I'm also waiting for a response from junior high school, but the question is of whether they agree that I play mostly techno. I can only wait and see.

The pictures are from yesterday, but they are taken after I was finished DJ-ing.

I think I'll buy me a black or white cloth as I may have on the table, that reach down to the floor. That's so the audience do not see that I pick up the vinyl records. The DJ cockpit that I have at home is too heavy and large to carry around...

Jeg har lyst på et nytt discolys. Jeg må ha et som jeg kan ta med rundt når jeg spiller. Jeg har en del lys i fra før og, men jeg tror de blir værende hjemme, desverre. De er skrudd fast i veggen, så det blir så mye styr å ta de ned...

American DJ - "Vertigo Tri LED" er midt i blinken. Den inneholder alt i ett, både farger og strobe effecter. Da slipper jeg kanskje og kjøpe strobe-light utenom. Det hadde også vært fint med røykeffekter sammens med dette lyset, for det er da det blir finest.

American DJ - "Vertigo Tri LED" is perfect. It contains everything that I need, color and strobe effects. Then you do not have to buy a strobe-light in addition. There had also been good with some smoke effects together with this light, because it's more beautiful.

I dag bestilte jeg meg 2 nye vinyl. Jeg måtte bare ha noen nye med tanke på at jeg holder på å få meg noen oppdrag. Noe jeg er kjempe glad for! Jeg bestilte meg "Pink - So What" og "Lady Gaga - Paparazzi". De platene jeg fant på JunoRecords var midt i blinken, pga. de inneholdt gode remixer pluss orginal og instrumental sanger.

På fredag har jeg et oppdrag igjennom 4H. Jeg skal spille på høstfesten deres, og gjett hvor spent jeg er! Det blir så gøy å få prøve seg framfor publikum. Det blir ikke elektronisk musikk der da, for det passer seg ikke helt. Det blir bare originale sanger, en god del 70-80-talls sanger. Det er egentlig en ganske stor utfordring, pga. at det er vanskeligere å lage overganger på de. Du har ikke det faste beaten som støtter deg. man kan heller ikke mixe noe spesielt, for det vil ødlege sangene, det er annerledes med elektronisk musikk. Jeg har øvd mye i det siste, og jeg regner med at det skal gå bra. Jeg føler at jeg har en del gode overganger, og jeg kan de utenat.

I ordered 2 new vinyl records today. I just had to get me some new ones, with the thought of me who is about to get some missions. Something I'm very happy for! I ordered "Pink - So What" and "Lady Gaga - Paparazzi". The records I found on JunoRecords was right on target, because they contained good remixes plus the original and instrumental songs.

On Friday, I have a mission through 4H. I'll play on their autumn festival, and guess how excited I am! It will be so much fun to try his hand in front of the audience. I will not play electronic music, because that won't fit the event. There are only original songs, a lot of 70-80-century songs. It's actually a pretty big challenge, because it's difficult to make transitions to that sort of music. You don't have the beat that should support you. You can not mix anything in particular, because it will destroy the songs, it's different with electronic music. I've been practicing a lot lately, and I expect that things will go well. I feel like I have some good transitions, and I can memorize them.

Jeg har i dag øvd inn et program på 2,5 timer. Mangler kanskje 1,5 timer til, for at det skal holde på en elevkveld, for eksempel. Dette programet skal brukes en gang på hver plass jeg får spille, og den andre gangen kommer jeg med noe nytt. Slik blir det ikke kjedelig for publikum.

Jeg har en del igjen, for alt må pugges inn. Jeg vet 85% hva jeg skal gjøre på hver sang, ellers så improviserer jeg en del også. Jeg har i all fall fått til en god del vellykkede overganger, slik at publikum ikke merker at jeg har skiftet sang. Ikke for å skryte, men jeg er ganske stolt over det. På grunn av at det er veldig vanskelig å få en Beat Match (BPM).

Today, I have practised a program for 2.5 hours. If I get 4 hours, it will hold for a student night, for example. This program will be used once at each place I'm playing, and the next time I come with something new. So the audience don't get bored. I have part left, because I have to memorize everything I do while I'm mixing. I remember about 85% what I do on each song. I also improvise to. All fall I have received a great deal of successful transitions, so that the audience doesn't notice that I have swapped song. Not to brag, but I'm pretty proud of it. Because it is very difficult to get a great Beat Match.

I'm sorry for my bad english today, but I'm in a hurry.

Antistatic brush

Jeg trenger virkelig en ny antistatisk børste. Den jeg har tar ikke opp støvet lenger, for den er så gammel at putene smuldrer opp... Så jeg kan ikke DJ på en stund. Hvis jeg gjør det vil jeg slite sund nåle fortere. Fordi den vil plukke opp støvet, og det blir bare tull til slutt. Nei, nei. Det blir kanskje ikke noen ny børste før jeg skal til Oslo. Jeg satser på å finne ei platesjappe der, men det som er så domt, er at jeg ikke får øvd noe særlig nå. Og jeg som begynner på skola snart... Blæh!

I really need a new anti-static brush. The one I have doesn't take the dust anymore, for it is so old that the pads crumble ... So I can't DJ for a while. If I do, I would wear out the needles. Since it will pick up all the dust, and it would be just nonsense at end. No, no. Perhaps I don't get a new brush before I'm going to visit Oslo. I expect to find a recordshop there, but it is so sad, that I can't practise that much right now. And I'm starting at school soon ... Blah!

As for example, about different vinyl records, what I'm doing as a DJ, and eventually if I'm going to play at student nights, etc. I will be designing posters later, which I will hang out when I feel that my DJ situation is under control. Something I look forward to, but it will take some time. The logo at the top of the blog is designed of me from the bottom, and I'm satisfied with it. You can also see it in the picture abow, but in a slightly different version.
I really hope that someone out there will follow this blog, perhaps someone with similar interests also. It is only to post comments, something I do appreciate!
